Brianna Lyston, a freshman at Louisiana State University (LSU), has been selected to represent the school in the 4x100m relay at the upcoming 2023 LSU Invitational.
Lyston is one of five talented runners on the team, including Alia Armstrong, Favour Ofili, Thelma Davies, and Leah Phillips. Having already shown her potential in several competitions, Lyston is a promising young athlete with a bright future.
The event, set to take place on April 29th, will also feature several other Jamaican athletes. Ackera Nugent and Joanne Reid will compete for Arkansas in the same event. Nugent and Daszay Freeman of Arkansas will contest the women’s 100m hurdles, with Nugent also participating in the 200m race.
Omar McLeod and Phillip Lemonious, both representing Arkansas, will be competing in the men’s 110m hurdles.
In the women’s 400m, Nickisha Pryce and Reid will represent Arkansas, while JeVaughn Powell will be competing in the men’s event. Jamaicans Tyrice Taylor and Rivaldo Marshall, both representing Indian Hills, will be competing in the men’s 800m race.
In the field events, Jaydon Hibbert, Wayne Pinnock, and Carey McLeod will participate in the men’s triple jump, while Shakwon Coke will represent Arkansas in the men’s long jump.
With a strong group of Jamaican athletes competing for both LSU and Arkansas, the 2023 LSU Invitational promises to be an exciting event for track and field fans.
