Joella Lloyd sets two new Antigua national junior records

Joella Lloyd enjoyed a stellar performance on her debut for the University of Tennessee at their Duel Meet with Indiana University at Gladstein Fieldhouse.

Lloyd ran an Antigua and Barbuda’s Junior Record 7.42s in the women’s 60m to claim the gold medal. Her teammate Alexis Duncan finished second in 7.44

The Antiguan sprinter returned with a 24.24 second-place run in the 200m. This time is also a National Junior Indoor record.

Sheldon Noble, also of Antigua, also had an outstanding performance in his season opener this past weekend at the Jim Green Invitational in Lexington, Kentucky.

The Western Kentucky Sophomore leapt to a 14.95m effort in the triple jump.
The mark exceeds the Carifta 2020 qualifying standard which means, Sheldon, the 2017 Commonwealth Youth Games long jump champion, joined former teammate Taeco O’Garro as qualifiers for the Easter weekend meet in Bermuda.
