Jamaican sprinter Kevona Davis, representing the University of Texas, put in an impressive performance in the 200m event at the Big 12 Indoor Track and Field Championships. Davis clocked in with the fastest qualifying time of 22.73 seconds, securing her place in the finals.

Mariah Ayers of Baylor University was a close second, finishing just 0.05 seconds behind Davis with a time of 22.78 seconds. Joining them in the finals were Lanae Thomas of Texas, who finished with a time of 22.83 seconds, and Julien Alfred, also from Texas and hailing from St. Lucia, with a time of 22.91 seconds. It is worth noting that Davis and Alfred have a history of facing off against each other in competition, having previously raced each other at the Jamaica High School Championships, also known as “Champs”. Davis represented Edwin Allen High School, while Alfred was from St. Catherine High School.

Ezinne Abba of Texas, Iyana Gray of TCU, Rosemary Chukwuma of Texas Tech, and Kennedy Blackmon of Oklahoma completed the top eight qualifiers. How to watch the Big 12 Indoor Championships?
