Kingston College, Edwin Allen and Holmwood shone brightest at Saturday’s Milo Western Relays held at GC Foster College in Spanish Town.
KC Class 3 boys 4x100m team ran 43.75 to set a new record. They beat the previous record of 43.99, set four years ago. Excelsior finished second in 45.08.
The North Street boys also won in classes 1 and 2 with 40.63 and 42.32 respectively.
On the girls’ side, Edwin Allen won classes 1, 2 and 4 finals in 44.80, 44.66 and 48.35 respectively. Kevona Davis ran the second leg for Edwin Allen’s Class 1 team while Tia Clayton anchored the Class 2 team.
Holmwood topped the girls’ Class 3 event in 47.38.
Edwin Allen 4x200m girls’ open team, led by Tina Clayton, ran 1:34.02, a new meet record, to beat Holmwood, 1:36.04.
Holmwood topped the 4x400m in a new record 3:36.47. Edwin Allen finished second in 3:38.74.
Naggohead Primary girls won their section in a record 52.58 while Greater Portmore 49.77 won the boys’ event, also in a record 49.77.
Holmwood’s Kiara Meikle ran 11.20 to lower the Class 3 80m hurdles record of 11.33. Kelly-Ann Carr of Edwin Allen ran 11.07 to equal the Class 4 girls’ 70m hurdles record.
Rickeisha Simms of Edwin Allen ran 2:12.76 for a new women’s 800m open record.
