Kingston College won the boys’ 4x400m open at Gibson McCook Relays on Saturday night (29 Feb).
The boys from North Street delivered the first sub-three minutes 10 seconds of the season. Anchored by St. Lucian Michael Joseph, they crossed the finish line in 3:09.70, almost a second ahead heat leaders Jamaica College (JC) 3:10.59.
Calabar finished third in 3:10.96 and Excelsior, fourth in 3:11.76.
On the girls’ side, Holmwood, with Kavea Francis on anchor, delivered in 3:37.16. Edwin Allen ran creditably for second in 3:38.12 and St. Jago 3:40.51
Sprintec won both male and female mile relays.
The male team, anchored by Demish Gaye, ran 3:05.17 to take top honours. Brendon Rodney, Chadric Hinds and Romario Williams were the other members of Sprintec’s team.
Puma MVP, with Martin Manley, Nathon Allen and Teray Smith and Akeem Bloomfield, finished second in 3:05.55 and GC Foster College, third in 3:06.65.
Racers Track Club was fourth in 3:07.54.
Sprintec female team, with Ronda Whyte, Anastasia Le-Roy, Dawnalee Loney and Tovea Jenkins, won in 3:35.16 head of GC Foster College 3:44.49 and Mico 4:16.89.
