THE 33rd annual JTA/ Sagicor National Athletics Championships runs off on Friday, 20 May at the National Stadium. Action starts at 10am

Over 1200 student athletes from 14 parishes, ages 6 through 17 will vie for the national title.

Individual athletes will also compete for the coveted title of Champion Boy and Champion Girl, each to receive trophies and academic scholarship for their tenure in secondary school courtesy of title sponsor Sagicor Foundation.

The championships has been home to Jamaica’s rising stars for several years with several past participants, including Dr. the Honourable Usain Bolt and golden girl Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, OD among those who have gone on to achieve massive success. Other athletes who have participated in the JTA Sagicor National Athletics Championships throughout the years include Veronica Campbell-Brown, Kerron Stewart, Sherone Simpson, Shericka Williams, Bridgette Foster Hylton, Nesta Carter, Yohan Blake and the superlative Bert Cameron among others.
