Jonielle Smith said she “felt good” in her first outing at a major championship.

She quickly progressed to the semi-finals of the women’s 100m at the 17th IAAF World Athletics Championships Doha 2019 on Saturday (28 Sept).

“It felt good,” she said after running 11.20 for third in heat 3, won by Great Britain’s Dina Asher-Smith in 10.96s.

“I was honestly nervous but glad I was able to go out there and made it to the semi-finals comfortably,” she added.

Now Smith is “just hoping to do my best moving forward.”
