In the javelin throw, Jones had personal best of 42.00m in Group A to score 706 points. She opened with 40.93m on her first throw and improved with her first personal best of the day, 42.00m on her third throw.

Jones finished in sixth in Group A. However, at the completion of the Group B, she was 20th overall scoring 706 scores. She dropped to sixth in the standing, with a total of 5613 points. Earlier in the day she was fourth with 5907 points after the long jump where was tenth with 6.30m (943 points).

In the 800m disciple, set for 10:18pm, Jones will run in heat 3 (lane 1) and will have produce another personal best (pb-2:21.62) to get among the medals.
