ST. GEORGES, Grenada – Kirani James and Meleni Rodney have been named Grenadian Athletes of the Year by Grenada Sports.

James ran the fastest 400m in the world this year as well as winning the Commonwealth gold, Grenada’s first gold medal in the history of the Games.

Meanwhile, 16-year-old Rodney, won Grenada’s first medal at the Youth Olympic Games, taking bronze in the 400m. She also won bronze at the CARIFTA Games.
