Odaine Lewis, another Jamaican at the meet, recorded 7.79m for second in the men’s long jump. Rayvon Grey of LSU won the event with 7.80m.

In the 200m, Ashton O’Connor topped the field in 20.76.

JuVaughn Harrison cleared 2.26m to take the top honours in the high jump.

Tonea Marshall runs world-leading 60mH time

It was at the same meet Tonea Marshall ran a world-leading 7.86 in the women’s 60m hurdles. Her time is also the third fastest in NCAA history.

Kortnei Johnson won the women’s 60m in 7.23 ahead of Symone Mason 7.24.

Jamaican Kevaun Rattray won the 60m at the Towson Tiger Invitational in 6.67 in New York.

In Nashville, Tennesse, at the Vanderbilt Invitational, Jamaican Raheem Chambers finished second in the men’s 60m behind new world leader Demek Kemp.

Kemp equalled and personal best of 6.55 to finish ahead of Chambers 6.57.

Taj Burgess clocked 46.63 in the 400m, Cooper Williams 1:47.84 in the 800m and Waleed Suliman 3:57.03 in the mile.

In women’s 800m, Allie Wilson ran 2:02.95 to take the victory. Adam Coulon cleared 5.60m in the pole vault, and Jessica Ramsey won shot 18.95m.
