World and Olympic 400m bronze medallist Shericka Jackson achieved a personal best over 100m at Saturday’s (18 March) Seniors Link Up meet.

Jackson, in the meet held at GC Foster College in Angels, St. Catherine, topped the women’s field in 11.67secs, beating her previous best of 11.76, done last week at the GC Foster Classic.

Sasha-Lee Forbes, who was a member of Jamaica’s Olympic Games 4x100m, which won silver in Rio, ran 11.72 for second while Stephenie-Ann McPherson, who beat Jackson at GC Foster Classic, finished third overall in 11.78.

Tyquendo Tracey of UTech won the men’s equivalent in 10.71, the same time given to his teammate Chad Walker.

GC Foster College’s Colin King, who ran 10.77 for third in the 100m, was the winner of the 200m in 21.07.

In the women’s 200m, Mico’s Dawnalee Loney came out with the best time of 23.69secs. Rene Medley of GC Foster College was second in 23.81 while third went to MVP’s Janeive Russell in 24.22secs.

MVP’s Jody Muir won the women’s 400m in 53.38 ahead of clubmate Shannon Kalawan, 54.00 and Mico’s Samantha James, 54.25secs.

Fedrick Dacres of UWI Mona won the men’s shot put with 18.81m.

Nikita Tracey was easy in taking the top spot in the women’s 400m hurdles with 56.82.
Ivanique Kemp of UWI, 13.67, and Natasha Russell of GC Foster College, 14.08, finished ahead of former World Youth champion Yanique Thompson, 14.27 in the 100m hurdles.

Isheka Binns of UWI with 55.90m and 41.21m won the women’s discus and javelin throw finals respectively.
