Jamaican Shericka Jackson is nominated for Moment of the month by World Athletics.
In a Twitter message, World Athletics asked fans to “Retweet to vote for @sherickajacko following her 21.55 200m at the Jamaican Championships.”
After winning the 100m, Shericka Jackson returned to blaze the track to dominate the 200m. She got off to a blistering start in the 200m to cover the entire field over the opening 100m before powering away from her rivals with the third-fastest time in history, 21.55.
Olympic champion Elaine Thompson-Herah was a distant second in 22.05 seconds, with Fraser-Pryce third in 22.14 secs.
Jackson’s time ranks her behind only world record holder Florence Griffith Joyner (21.34) and Thompson-Herah (21.53) on the all-time world list.
Sydney McLaughlin, who ran a world record 51.41 to lower her own world 400m hurdles record, is also nominated for the award.
Devon Allen, who ran 12.84 in New York on June 12 to win the men’s 110m hurdles and Mondo Duplantis’ world record clearance of 6.16m, are also in the runnings.
