MONACO – The IAAF might reanalyse Russian samples conducted at the 2014 World Indoor Championships over suspicions that athletes who failed doping tests were allowed to compete, informs AP.
According to the final part of the McLaren report, eight athletes submitted suspicious samples the week before they were to travel to the championships held in Sopot, Poland.
The samples collected included three with unusually high testosterone levels, four containing ostarine, and one containing both ostarine and turinabol.
One of the athletes included in the eight was thought to be long jumper Svetlana Biryukova who was removed from the team and subsequently banned for two years but it is believed the remaining samples were recorded as clean by Russian Sports Ministry official Alexei Velikodny.
“We are going through the names we have been given by Prof. McLaren’s team and where we have samples from the relevant period we will reanalyse,” said the IAAF in a statement.
