Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF), Olivier Gers, will be in Jamaica next week.
JAAA’s president Dr. Warren Blake confirmed Gers visit for the RJR Sports Foundation Sportsman and Sportswoman of the Year Awards function.
Dr. Blake said, Gers will speak on “the importance of Jamaica to global track and field.”
It is not clear how many days Gers will spend in Jamaica, but he will arrive in time for the January 13th function to be held at the Jamaica Pegasus.
Gers was appointed as IAAF CEO last August. The 46-year-old Frenchman has more than 20 years of commercial, marketing and media experience, leading large global teams in creating revenue driven products, networks and brands.
