Holmwood made light work of the High School Girls' 4x800m Championship of America final on Friday, at the 121st Penn Relays.
The Christiana-based institution with Shaniekie Watson (2:17.56), Chrissiani May (2:12.95), Britney Campbell (2:19.95) and Lisa Buchanan (2:10.87) won in 9:01.31 ahead of Western Branch of Viginia 9:07.71.
Buchanan said her team “worked hard to come here to win” while coach Dave Anderson said they were always confident coming into the event.
“The girls have being dominating all season, and all they needed to do was to stay focused,” said Anderson.
Vere Technical with Britnie Dixon (2:15.30), Sanique Walker (2:15.59), Alithia Fearon (2:24.17) and Sasha-Gaye Whyte (2:18.01) finished third in 9:13.06.
