The National Stadium came alive as Jamaica’s Christoff Bryan won the High Jump competition at 2.15m, at the JAAA National Senior Athletics Championships. Bryan was the lone competitor moving on to that height, as Matthew Campbell, fell out at 2.10. Following that height, he went on to clear 2.20m comfortably. He then went on to his personal best height of 2.25m, where he failed on his first attempt. Having asked for the support of the crowd, he then cleared the height on his second attempt, clearing the way for the Olympic qualifying height of 2.29m. Bryan came close on his second attempt, but failed to make the height, ending his series at 2.25m, equaling his personal best.
