Grant Holloway ready for US Trials

Grant Holloway broke his own American 60m hurdles record at Tuesday’s (9) Meeting Hauts-de-France Pas-de-Calais in Lievin.

The Doha 2019 World 110m hurdles champion, ran 7.32 to take victory in the World Athletics Indoor Tour Gold meeting 60m hurdles race.

France’s Wilhem Belocian was second in 7.52, just 0.03 ahead of Italy’s Paolo Dal Molin. USA’s Aaron Mallett was fourth in 7.57.

Holloway os now the second-fastest ever in the world behind only the 7.30 world record by Great Britain’s Colin Jackson in 1994.

Holloway said in a video on his social media page: “7.32, new PB and American record, but I am not satisfied through.”

In the men’s 60m final, Italian Marcell Jacobs ran 6.54 to beat American Michael Rodgers, 6.60 and Arthur Cisse, 6.61.

Javianne Oliver of the USA won the women’s 60m in 7.10s ahead Rosangela Santos of Brazil, 7.17 and Dezerea Bryant of the USA, 7.21.

Hugues Fabrice Zango won the men’s triple jump with 17.82m.

Winfred Yavi topped the women’s 2,000m steeplechase in 5:45.09 ahead of Marcus Mismas-Zrimsek 5:48.71.

Auriol Dongmo of Poland won the women’s shot put with 19.18m ahead of Christina Schwanitz of Germany 18.93m.

    1. Taieke Haughton I cannot agree more! I’m all for my Jamaican athletes but there are some opponents that I respect to the max and look forward to their rivalry with my fellow Jamaican athletes. Omar is refreshed and reenergized and ready to go so I’m looking forward to the clashes.
