BATON ROUGE, La – Jamaican Chrisann Gordon launched her 2016 400m campaign with a personal best effort at today’s (April 23) LSU Alumni Gold meet
Gordon, who was a part of Jamaica’s team to the World Relays last year, ran 51.03 seconds for second behind her Texas teammate Courtney Okolo, who ran a collegiate record of 49.71.
“I am happy with my PB knowing this was my first 400m race for the outdoor season,” Gordon, who is preparing for this summer’s Rio Olympic Games, told TrackAlerts.com
The former Holmwood star athlete finished ahead of Delecia Majors of Tennessee 52.19 and Georganne Moline, representing Nike, 52.39.
“I am in good shape,” she said while adding “I am looking forward to run faster later in the season.”
Gordon’s time also ranks No. 3 in the NCAA this season. She is also No. 5 in school history.
