American World champion Justin Gatlin will run the 100m at Sunday’s (20 May) Seiko Golden Grand Prix in Osaka, Japan.
Gatlin, who won at the Grenada Invitational in 10.05, faces fellow American Isiah Young and sub-10 Japanese runner Yoshihide Kiryu.
The Seiko Golden Grand Prix men’s 200m is also expected to be hot.
Botswana’s Isaac Makwala, the Commonwealth Games 400m champion, will take on the half-lap event. He will start as the favourite against Chinese Xie Zhenye and Americans Brandon Carnes, Dedric Dukes and long jumper Jarrion Lawson.
Japanese Genta Masuno starts in the men’s 110m hurdles, against Greggmar Swift of Barbados.
Estonian Rasmus Magi and Eric Cray of Philippines are the big names in men’s 400m hurdles.
The Women’s 100m will have American Candace Hill and Jasmine Todd, along with Japanese record holder Chisato Fukushima.
In the 400m, USA’s Daina Harper is going up against European challenge Justyna Ersetic-Swiety and Gunta Latiseva-Cudare.
Queen Harrison is the big name in the 100m hurdles while Canadian Sage Watson and Joanna Linkiewicz from Poland should fight for top position in 400m hurdles.
