Bahamian Tynia Gaither and Trinidad and Tobago’s Deon Lendore stared at Thursday’s (6 Aug) Back to the Track Series III Meeting in Texas.
Deon Lendore won the men’s 200m dash in 20.63s, beating Aldrich Bailey Jr, 20.74 and Mike Bryan, 21.03.
Jamaicans Javon Francis, 21.07 finished fourth while Jahnoy Thompson, 21.54 ended seventh.
Lendore with 45.80 was beaten in the men’s 400m by Michael Cherry, 45.43.
Francis finished fifth in 46.98 and Vernon Norwood, sixth in 47.00.
Bahamian Tynia Gaither won the 60m and 100m races.
Gaither topped the women’s 100m, winning in 11.25 ahead of Tianna Bartoletta, 11.46 (2.3m/s wind).
Candyce McGrone finished third in 11.52.
Myasia Jacobs of Barbados with 11.56 (0.9m/s wind) and Jamaica’s World U20 400m hurdles silver medallist, Shiann Salmon, 12.88 (1.7m/s wind) were fourth and eight respectively.
Tobi Amusan, 11.69 finished fifth and Reese 11th in 13.31s.
Gaither, in the 60m, ran across the line in 7.46 to beat Bartoletta, 7.54 and Kristina Griffin, 7.80.
Barbadian Mario Burk ran 6.97 for second in the men’s 60m, won by Aldrich Bailey, 6.94.
In the men’s 100m, Cravon Gillespie took top honours in 10.09 ahead of Mike Bryan, 10.25 and Carlin Isles, 10.34.
Barbadian Mario Burke ran 10.36 for fourth, Mike Rodgers, 10.47 for sixth, Thompson, 10.67 for eight and Shane Brathwaite, 10.85 for 10th.
Salmon, ran 26.77 for sixth in the women’s 200m. American long jump queen, Brittney Reese, 29.72 was seventh.
Payton Chadwick won the event in 23.62 ahead of Candyce McGrone, 23.56 and Shamier Little, 24.05.
Grenadian Kanika Beckles finished fifth in 24.48s.
Courtney Okolo won the women’s 400m in 52.13 ahead of Little, 52.98 and Natasha Hastings, 53.62.
Taliyah Brooks won the women’s long jump with 6.29m.
