Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce ran her first 200m of the 2020 season at Saturday’s (18 July) Velocity Fest at Jamaica College.

Fraser-Pryce, the 2013 world sprint double champion, beat a fairly competitive field.

She ran 22.74secs into a -0.9m/s wind to beat Bahamian 2012 World U20 sprint double champion Anthonique Strachan, 23.05 and Shashalee Forbes, 23.39.

Rushell Clayton, who won bronze in the women’s 400m hurdles at the Doha 2019 World Championships, finished 5th in 24.21.

  1. Some of you people are silly. She won easily in her first 200m season opener of the year at a low key meet. Her performance was better than what we saw from Thompson-Herah and Jackson last week. She did what needed to be done.

    • I still believe Thompson should be groomed for the 200m. Her longlivity is stronger than Shelly Ann Frazier Pryce.. Remember she’s the Olympic Champion for the 200m and she did it at 21 .66at World Championships in 2015.
