Jamaica’s Queen of Sprints, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce, secured a comfortable win at the Atletica Mondiale meeting in Padova, Italy, on Sunday (17). Fraser-Pryce, who led from about 25m kept her form and composure to lead to the finish.
The discomfort in body language that has been evident since her very recent toe injury, was missing, and that will come as a relief to many fans looking forward to her defending her Olympic title at the Rio Olympics next month. The “Pocket Rocket” as she is affectionately called won in a time of 11.25secs. Second in the race was Jeneba Tarmoh (11.47secs) USA and third went to fellow Jamaican, Shimayra Campbell, 11.54secs, of UTECH.
