Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce produced a meeting record to win the women’s 100m at Thursday’s (8 Sept) Zurich Diamond League final.
Fraser-Pryce, arguably the best 100m sprinter, again showed her class to take the fifth Diamond Trophy of her career.
Fraser-Pryce, who is chasing Flo-Jo’s 10.49 record, dominated the race from start to finish to win the event in 10.65.
“I am feeling good to be able to come here and compete. This was remarkable, and I am very proud that I came away with a 10.65 – I started with a 10.6, and I finished with a 10.6, so there is nothing more I could ask for,” said Fraser-Pryce after the race.
Shericka Jackson, who finished strong, got second in 10.81 and Marie-Josée Ta Lou of Ivory Coast, 10.91.
American Sha’Carrie Richardson finished seventh in 11.13.
