Edwin Allen defended their High School Girls' 4x400m Championship of America title with victory here at the 121st Penn Relays on Friday (24 April).
They posted a 3:40.41 clocking, thanks to Davia Smith, Janiel Moore, Shannon Kalawan & Saqukine Cameron, delivered in front of 39.130 strong gathering on the second day.
Michael Dyke, coach of Edwin Allen, was always confident of victory. “We knew that we had the team to win,”
He continued: “We came for two and we got two.”
The victory was Edwin Allen’s 4th at Penn Relays. They won in 2009, 2012 and 2014.
Vere Technical with Sanique Walker, Rene Medley, Shanice Clarke and Derriann Hill finished second in 3:42.18.
Holmwood Tech 3:43.53 (Xuxa Peart, Ashley Williams, Jonel Lacey and Lisa Buchanan finished fourth while St. Jago 3:43.96 (Genekee Leith, Tasheena Ewan, Andrenette Knight and Shanice Reid) ended 5th.
