Jamaican Athletics Stars of Tomorrow to Shine at JAAA Puma Fuller-Anderson Development Meet
Boys and Girls Champs Class 3 sprint double champion Kevona Davis was the top sprinter at Saturday's (Jan 14) Puma/JAAA Development Meet at Kirkvine in Manchester.

Edwin Allen’s Class 3 sprinter, Kevona Davis, was the overall fastest female in the 200m at Saturday’s (14 Jan) Puma/JAAA Development meet at Kirkvine in Manchester.

Davis, who is the defending Class 3 sprint double champion at Champs, topped the event in 23.16 (+3.6m/s wind).

Holmwood Technical’s Kishawna Wallace topped Class 2 in 23.32 (+1.6m/s) for the second best time of the day. Wallace’s teammate and Class 3 sprinter Saskieka Steele had the third best time of 23.34 (+2.0m/s). These marks were taken from the analysis of timed finals.

Even the Class 4 winner, Tina Clayton of Edwin Allen ran faster than the seniors and Class 1 athletes. She was timed in 23.78, but the wind was a strong +6.9m/s.

Patrice Moody and Shelece Clark, both of Edwin Allen, took the top two places in Class 1 with times of 23.74 (6.3m/s) and 23.83 (2.0m/s) respectively.

In the senior section, which was without wind reading, Shereca Hemmings of MVP won in 23.98 ahead of GC Foster College’s Natasha Russell, 24.68.

On the boys’ side, Edwin Allen’s Jevaughn Powell was the only Class 2 boy to go sub-21 with 20.96.

In Class 3, Reheim Scott, won the event with 21.97, thanks to a very strong wind of +9.2m/s, but it was second place man, Kalani Cook of Green Island who broke the record with 21.18 (1.7m/s).

Kevon Stone of Petersfield took the Class 1 boys event in 21.14, a new record run. The wind was 0.9m/s.

Jevaughn Young of MVP won the men’s section in 20.93. There was no wind reading.

Nicolee Foster of Holmwood won the Class 1 girls’ 400m in 58.08 ahead of Hydel’s Roneisha McGregor, 58.35.

Edwin Allen took the top three spots in the Girls Open 3000m event with Kayan Green 11:14.01, Kara Grant 11:16.15 and Jeima Davis 11:25.29.
Oshane Archibald of GC Foster College won the Boys 5000m Open in 16:03.72 ahead of Garfield Gordon of Mavis Bank High, 16:07.09.

In the Girls 800m, Janiel Moore of Edwin Allen, 2:25.84; Delverna Bromfield of Holmwood, 2:20.19 and Jessica McLean, also of Edwin Allen, 2:24.28 were the Classes 1, 2 and 3 winners, respectively.

Kobe Simpson of Manchester High, 2:06.17 and Kingston College’s Giovounni Henry, 2:13.94 won the Boys Class 2 and 3 800m events, respectively.
