Jamaican Damion Thomas was a winner at Friday’s (29 Jan) Louisiana Invitational inside the Carl Maddox Field House in Baton Rouge, LA.
Thomas, the winner of the World U20 110m hurdles title in 2018, won Friday’s 60m obstacle event in 7.84 seconds.
Eric Edwards Jr, Thomas’ LSU teammate, finished second in 7.94.
LSU, the USA-based institution of many Jamaicans over the years, also finished 1-2 in the women’s 60m hurdles with Milan Young, 8.18 and Alia Armstrong, 8.32.
LSU also dominated the women’s 60m, taking the top four spots with Symone Mason, 7.38, Amber Anning, 7.51, Ariyonna Augustine, 7.54 and Milan Young, 7.57.
Kiya Oviosun, 24.63 and Jurnee Woodward, 24.89, both of LSU, were first and second in the women’s 200m.
Brandon Letts of Northwestern State won the men’s 60m dash in 6.82, just ahead of his teammate Kie’Ave Harry, 6.84.
Indya Jackson was the only one to break 60 seconds in the women’s 400m with 58.12.
