Jamaica's Briana Williams tests positive for banned substance




Jamaica’s rising star Briana Williams had a very busy day, 20 July. The 18-year-old sprinter ran five races in less than two-and-half hours at the AP Ranch High-Performance Invitational.

The meet helped athletes to fulfil their contractual duties in a number of competitions and performances per year.

Williams, who is the World U20 sprint double champion, earlier this year signed a professional contract with Nike.

She ran 7.68 for 10th in the women’s 60m, 12.43 for 11th the 100m and finished 13th in the 150m with a time of 18.74.

Williams’ other two races, 250m was done in 38.31 for 15th and 300m, 13th in 46.56.

Brianna Rollins-McNeal won the 60m in 7.39 and 150m in 16.41.

The other track events, 100m went to Sha’Carri Richardson, 11.56; 250m Kyra Jefferson, 32.44 and 300m to Melissa Gonzalez in 39.06.
