Usain Bolt became the first man in Olympic Games history to win three straight 100m titles.
Bolt, who trailed American Justin Gatlin briefly, eased pass and across the line in a season best 9.81 seconds.
Gatlin was second in 9.89 and Canadian Andre de Grasse, third in 9.91.
Yohan Blake was 4th in 9.93.
