KINGSTON, Jamaica – 2011 World 100m champion Yohan Blake will miss the rest of the 2014 season after undergoing hamstring surgery, inform Reuters.
The 24 year old sustained the injury in the 100m at the Glasgow Diamond League on July 11. His coach, Glen Mills explained that Blake is currently using crutches after having the operation a couple of days ago.
“The injury was quite severe and the original prognosis was misdiagnosed and he went to Germany and when they had a good look, they realised that it was more serious and required surgery, so he'll be out for quite a long time,” confirmed Mills.
