Former World 400m champion Bert Cameron broke his leg recently. According to the Star, Cameron, who won the 1983 World 400m title in Helsinki, has been confined to wheel chair and crutches.
The 56-year-old broke his leg while racing with a member of his Cameron Blazer Track Club.
"I was just messing around and racing with a lady. I was going full force and tore my right hamstring so I shifted the pressure to my left leg and tore my quad muscle and broke the bone,” Cameron was quoted as saying.
Cameron, who also coaches Mico University College, said he is recovering well.
“I'm at my practice coaching my little team now… I'm thanking God because it could've been much worse like breaking my hip," added Cameron.
