MINSK (BLR): European Athletics has announced they will be part of the 2019 European Games in Minsk with an “innovative event” set to feature, informs insidethegames.biz.
“It will be a new athletics product. European Athletics is now working on the development of this product,” said a spokesperson at the European Athletics.
More details on the format will be announced at the council meeting in April but European Athletics President Svein Arne Hansen has ruled out a repeat of the 2015 edition of the European Games in Baku where the European Team Championships Third League was incorporated into the inaugural event.
At the meeting European Olympic Committees were represented by the acting president Janez Kocijancic and Pierce O´Callaghan as EOC senior consultant. EA President Svein Arne Hansen headed the EA delegation along with Antti Pihlakoski, Libor Varhanik and Christian Milz.
