Dina Asher-Smith beat American Sha'Carri Richardson and Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce in Sunday's (23 May) Gateshead Diamond League women's 100m clash.

British sprinter Dina Asher-Smith shone brightest, while Jamaican Danniel Thomas-Dodd got third place at Friday’s (27 Jan) INIT Indoor Meeting Karlsruhe Messehalle in Karlsruhe, Germany.

The women’s 60m final was a battle between British sprinter Dina Asher-Smith and Polish sprinter Ewa Swoboda. Asher-Smith got off to a strong start and finished with a time of 7.04, beating Swoboda by 0.05 seconds and earning her 10 points.

Mujinga Kambundji of Switzerland finished in 7.11, and Daryll Neita of Great Britain finished in 7.16.

In the men’s 400m, Benjamin Lobo Vedel of Denmark raced to victory in 46.45secs, earning 10 points. Óscar Husillos of Spain came in second with a time of 46.63.

The men’s 60m hurdles saw Enrique Llopis of Spain take the top spot, finishing with a time of 7.57. Asier Martínez of Spain took the second spot in 7.57.

In the men’s 1500m, George Mills of Great Britain topped the field in 3:35.88. Isaac Nader of Portugal came in second with 3:37.29.

The women’s shot put saw Auriol Dongmo of Portugal take the top spot with a throw of 18.90m, earning her 10 points. Sarah Mitton of Canada came in second with a throw of 18.88m, while Jamaican athlete Danniel Thomas-Dodd finished third with 18.77m.

In the men’s pole vault, KC Lightfoot of the USA took the top spot with 5.83m clearance, but Kurtis Marschall of Australia and Emmanouil Karalis of Greece also got over the same height.

The women’s triple jump saw Liadagmis Povea of Cuba taking the top position with a 14.64m. Leyanis Pérez Hernández of Cuba came in second with 14.45m, and Maryna Bekh-Romanchuk of Ukraine, with 14.41 meters.

In the women’s long jump, Ivana Vuleta of Serbia won the event with a 6.76m leap. Agate de Sousa of Sao Tome and Principe came in second with a jump of 6.66m.
