Jamaica’s former world 100m record holder Asafa Powell was beaten by Canadian Andre De Grasse at Saturday’s Houston leg of the American Track League.

Powell, who recorded the fastest time in the first round of 10.05, returned with 10.08, six hundredths of a second slower than De Grasse 10.02.
Dexter Lee, who ran 10.19 earlier, finished third in 10.14.

Meanwhile, American Jenna Prandini won the women’s sprint double. She won the 100m in 11.21 and 200m in 22.42.
Jamaican Natasha Morrison was 4th in the 100m in 11.38 while Semoy Hackett of Trinidad and Tobago, 11.40 and Kerron Stewart of Jamaica, 11.45 were 5th and 7th respectively.

In the 200m, Bahamian Tynia Gaither, 23.16 ended in 3rd position.

Andrew Riley of Jamaica won the men’s 110m hurdles in 13.47 ahead of American Ryan Fontenot, 13.77.

Natoya Goule of Jamaica, 2:00.33 finished behind Ajee Wilson of USA, 1:59.98 in the women’s 800m.

Jamaican Fitzroy Dunkley, 45.43 and Trinidad and Tobago’s Jarrin Solomon, 45.62 were 2nd and 4th in the men’s 400m, won by American Vernon Norwood, 45.19.
