Julien Alfred in record breaking mood

St. Lucian Julien Alfred won the Under-19 girls’ 100m title at the Digicel Grand Prix Finals at the National Stadium on Saturday (March 10).

Alfred, representing St. Catherine High, ran away with the title in 11.88secs.

Holmwood Tech’s Sasheika Steele won the Under-17 girls’ 100m final in 11.92

Kimani Gardner of Excelsior was the winner of the Under-19 boys’ final in 10.60secs, edging out Kevon Stone of Petersfield, 10.68secs

Terrique Stenneth of KC took the boys’ event in 10.82.

At the end of the Grand Finale, the winning teams (boys and girls) will be rewarded with $1 million each for development of their school’s training facilities. Cash prizes of $500,000 and $200,000 will go to second and third place teams respectively.
