Whyte, McPherson, Gayle to compete in Italy on Sunday

Annsert Whyte, Stephenie-Ann McPherson and Tajay Gayle will compete at Sunday’s (September 1) 32nd edition of Citta di Padova Meeting in Padova, Italy.

Whyte, in the men’s 400m hurdles, will take on European medalist Yasmani Copello and American former World champion Bershawn Jackson.

Gayle will start favourite in the men’s long jump.

Stephenie-Ann McPherson, the NACAC champion, will be the big name in the women’s 400m.

Christian Coleman against fellow American Mike Rodgers will highlight the men’s 100m.

English Gardner, who made a return last week after a year with 11.02s, take centre stage in the women’s 100m.

Sergey Shubenkov, in the 110m hurdles, and Mariya Lasitskene, in the high jump, are other big names down to compete.

Genzebe Dibaba will try for a fast mile race.
