English Gardner withdraws from Prefontaine Classic

Eugene, Oregon – Sprinter English Gardner has withdrawn from the Prefontaine Classic 100m on May 27th because of injury.

“She has a slight tear in her calf which had been slow to heal,” explains her manager, Emanuel Hudson.  “In an air of caution, the doctors recommend she stay off of it for this additional time.”

Replacing Gardner will be Barbara Pierre (USA), the victor over 60 Meters at the World Indoor Championships in Portland last year.

Fans can follow the event lineups as all announced fields are posted at PreClassic.com.  The direct link to current start/entry lists is HERE and will include updates to all announced fields.
