Track and field legend Usain Bolt has ruled out lowering his 200m world record.
Bolt, who ran 19.30secs at the Beijing Olympic Games to lower USA’s Michael Johnson then mark of 19.32secs, then followed up a year later in Berlin with 19.19secs, said he would have to leave the mark there.
“After last season I figured out that no matter how hard I work at this point it’s going to be hard to get the 200 metre world record,” added the three-time Olympic Games sprint double champion.
But, what about his other individual record, the men’s 100m – 9.58secs, Bolt said: “So I’ll be focusing on the 100 and 4×100 relay next season.”
“I’m not really worried about world records at this point, just winning. But if I can get through the season without any injuries, then I think that anything is possible.”
