Brianna Lyston and Britany Anderson were the Jamaican women in action at the Ostrava Golden Spike on Tuesday, 16 June.
Lyston finished third in the women’s 100m, clocking 11.18 behind Poland’s Ewa Swoboda, who won in 11.09, and New Zealand’s Zoe Hobbs, second in 11.12.
In the women’s 100m hurdles, Britany Anderson finished sixth in 12.87, while Nadine Visser of the Netherlands took the win in 12.65.
Noah Lyles stole the overall spotlight in the men’s 150m, taking down the world best previously held by Jamaica’s Kishane Thompson. Lyles ran 14.67, with South Africa’s Sinesipho Dambile second in 14.78 and Australia’s Gout Gout third in 14.96.
South Africa’s Bayanda Walaza won the men’s 100m in 9.94, ahead of Cameroon’s Emmanuel Eseme, who ran 9.99. Hungary’s Attila Molnár took the men’s 400m in 44.56.
Cuba’s Roxana Gómez also impressed, finishing second in the women’s 400m in 50.20 behind Czech Republic’s Lurdes Gloria Manuel, who won in 49.74.
Switzerland’s Audrey Werro produced a big 800m win in 1:54.45, with Femke Bol second in 1:57.13.
