The highlight of the Bauhaus-Galan or Stockholm Diamond League was the women’s 800m race, as expected, but the main player was different. Audrey Werro’s finish over Keely Hodgkinson was special in a historic race that suggests the days of Kratochvílová’s world record are numbered.
On the other side, local star Armand Duplantis lost for the first time since July 21, 2023, in Monaco, where he finished fourth with 5.72m. Since then, he had won 40 consecutive competitions. In addition to the women’s 800m, there were two more meeting records set in the women’s steeplechase and shot put. U.S. sprint favorites dominated, with only Patterson falling short in the men’s 400m.
There was also a special win from a 17-year-old in the men’s 800m. The Scandinavian Tour will conclude at its final stop on Wednesday in Oslo.
