GOLD COAST, Australia – Olympic 100m and 200m champion Elaine Thompson will compete in only the longer event at the Commonwealth Games.
After clocking 11.71 for victory over 100m in Brisbane on Wednesday, the Jamaican told herald.com.au: “I will just run the [200m] this time.”
“It is there to get me prepared for my outdoor (season), which is the Diamond League,” Thompson added.
