Bloomfield, Chambers, Smith, Whyte secure wins at Commodore Invitational

Sophomore sprinter Akeem Bloomfield clocked the fastest time in the nation over 400m so far this season to win the Commodore Invitational on Saturday, January 13, 2018.

Bloomfield’s time of 45.92 took him across the finish line ahead of his Auburn teammate Randall Ceneus, 46.60.

Raheem Chambers won the men’s 60m with a personal-best time of 6.62, which currently ranks as the third-fastest time in the country.

Senior Jonielle Smith set a new personal best time of 7.30 to beat Jeanine Williams of Georgia Tech, 7.48 in the women’s 60m.

In the women’s 200m, former St. Jago standout, Natalliah Whyte, 23.98 seconds, took the top spot.
