The semifinals of the women’s 400m, at the championships was loaded with excitement as all the big names progressed to the final. In heat 1,  World Championship finalist, Christine Day, clocked a comfortable 50.43 seconds to  win ahead of Shericka Jackson, who clocked, 51.46 and Chrisann Gordon third in 51.51 sec.

Semifinal 2 saw the inform Stephenie Ann McPherson winning in the fastest time of both semifinals, clocking 50.31 sec in holding off the veteran, Novlene Williams- Mills, who clocked a season best  50.89 for second, as she stormed past Annesha Mclaughlin-Whilby, who pressed hard to the line, in 51.35.

In the Men’s event, we saw Nathan Allen winning in a time of 45.47 sec, to take the semifinal ahead of Jonia McDonald in 45.61 and the World Youth Champion, Christopher Taylor,  who fought hard to the line with McDonald, came through in a time of 45.68 sec.

Semifinal 2, had a battle between top ranked Jamaican Javon Francis and the inform Peter Matthews, with Francis winning in a time of 45.26 sec and Matthews credited with the same time of 45.26. In third, was Hugh Graham Jr, in 46.14 sec.

Christopher Taylor would have qualified for the final, comeSunday evening , with the 8th fastest time.
