Unlike the semi-final, he got a fairly good start, and with Pascal Martinot-Lagarde of France on his inside and another Frenchman, Dimitri Bascou and the Spaniard, Orlando Ortega outside, the former Manchester High School and Kingston College student/athlete never panicked.

The other medal winners were Ortega and Bascou in times of 13.17 and 13.24 respectively.

The 2016 World Indoor 60m hurdles champion was by far the most consistent hurdler this season.

He won three of the four Diamond League meets – Doha 13.05, Shanghai 12.98 and Eugene 13.06, but fell over the last hurdle in Monaco, but got up to cross the line in 16.82. He also had a fall at the Hengelo Meeting in Belgium.
