Clemson senior Shantae Foreman claimed the silver medal in the women’s long jump final at the NCAA Outdoor Championships in Eugene, Oregon, on Thursday, posting a mark of 6.69m.
Stanford’s Alyssa Jones took the gold with a meeting record leap of 7.06m, the only jump over seven metres in the final.
Shantae Foreman, a Jamaican-born athlete competing for Clemson, closed out her NCAA career with a podium finish in Eugene.
Also in action was Britannie Johnson of Purdue in the women’s shot put final. The Jamaican thrower and Camperdown High product recorded a best of 16.02m but did not place among the leaders in the event.
Nebraska’s Axelina Johansson won the shot put with a meeting record throw of 19.92m.
