Ellery Lincoln of Oregon delivered a commanding performance to win the HOKA HS Girls Championship Mile at the HOKA Festival of Miles on Thursday night, clocking a meet-leading 4:27.65 to secure victory and move to No. 1 in the United States among high school girls in 2026.

Lincoln took control of the race from the opening laps and maintained her advantage throughout, covering the first quarter-mile in 1:08.21 and reaching 800 meters in 2:15.61. She remained on pace through 1,200 meters in 3:23.25 before closing strongly over the final lap to stop the clock at 4:27.65.

The Oregon junior finished nearly five seconds ahead of California’s Braelyn Combe of Santiago (Corona), who ran 4:32.41 to move to No. 2 on the U.S. high school list this season.

Massachusetts standout Abigail Hennessy of Westford Academy secured third place in 4:35.14, while Texas freshman Elin Latta of South Texas Heat was fourth in 4:35.98. Kara Glenn of St. Charles North (Illinois) rounded out the top five with a time of 4:38.68.

Lincoln’s performance came well under the event’s designated pace lights and further established her as one of the nation’s top distance runners heading into the summer championship season.

The race featured impressive depth, with seven athletes breaking 4:43 and several producing personal-best caliber performances.
