The high school senior will forego his senior prom to take on the field at the Pre Classic. The World U20, 200m record holder clocked 19.49 for 200m in Baton Rouge earlier this season.
The 18-year-old US sprinter, who finished fourth in the Tokyo Olympics 200m final, effortlessly pulled away from the rest of the field on the bend to enter the homestretch as the clear leader. Erriyon Knighton powered across the line in the fourth-fastest time ever.

Olympic finalist Joseph Fahnbulleh did his best to stay with Knighton in that race. However, the teenager was too far ahead and crossed the line in 19.49 (1.4m/s), with Fahnbulleh taking second place in 19.92.
Erriyon Knightonrecorded a 10.04 in Gainesville back on April 16, his personal best. The teen is currently ranked 58th according to World Athletics scoring in the 100m.
