The executive of the JAAA congratulated Natoya Goule, who ran a National indoor record and world-leading 1:58.46 seconds for the 800m in France on Thursday (17 Feb).

Natoya Goule set a new Jamaican indoor 800-meter record at Thursday’s (17 Feb 2022) Meeting Hauts-de-France Pas-de-Calais in Liévin, France.

JAAA’s President Garth Gayle said, “Natoya continues to steadily improve, and her early season performances are showing her determination to be among the world’s best. The team and I are pleased with the milestone, and we continue to wish Natoya and the other athletes all the best in their plans for the season and the major events to come.”

Natoya Goule, who held the previous record of 1:59.13 seconds, ran 1:58.46 to lower the old mark. She was challenged by Ugandan Halimah Nakaayi, who crossed the line in 1:58.58. Kenyan Eglay Nafuna Nalyanya finished third in 2:00.26.
On her way to what is the fastest time in the world this, year, Natoya Goule went through 600 meters in 1:27.64 seconds.

She also won recently in New York and will take her good form to Birmingham, England, this weekend.

Natoya was a finalist in the Summer Olympic Games in Tokyo last Summer.
