Jamaica’s Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games medallists Briana Williams and Ronald Levy will grace the 100th running of the ISTAF Berlin on Sunday. The is part of the World Athletics Continental Tour.
Briana Williams, who held Jamaica to gold in the women’s 4x100m at the Olympic Games, will be joined by compatriot Natasha Morrison in the 100m. Morrison ran the heats of the 4x100m in Tokyo.
Trinidad and Tobago’s Michelle-Lee Ahye is also in the field. Great Britain’s Daryll Neita is the top seed.
Tokyo 110m hurdles bronze medallist Ronald Levy and Damion Thomas will run the sprint obstacle. American Devon Allen is the man to beat.
Shadae Lawrence is in the women’s discus.
Two Jamaicans, Nigel Ellis and Julian Forte are down to contest the men’s 100m dash. Marvin Bracy is the man to beat here.
Jaheel Hyde will again go up against Olympic champion and world record holder Karsten Warholm in the men’s 400m hurdles.
Meeting director Martin Seeber welcomed Warholm to Berlin: “It’s great that Karsten Warholm would like to come to Berlin again and celebrate the anniversary of the world’s oldest athletics meeting with the Berlin fans who helped him set the meeting record in 2020.
