SZEKESFEHERVAR, Hungary: Shaunae Miller-Uibo versus Shericka Jackson and Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce against Elaine Thompson-Herah clashes will highlight Tuesday’s (6 July) 11th Istvan Gyulai Memorial, known as the Hungarian Athletics Grand Prix.
Jackson justified her status as a 100/200 sprinter with 10.77 and 21.82 at the Jamaica Olympic Trials. Miller-Uibo, a strong contender for the Olympic Games crown, will be lining up in her fifth 200m this season. Miller-Uibo, who won the Rio 2016 Olympic Games 400m title, is still open to this summer’s 200/400m double.
Dafne Schippers, a two-time world champion, will also face the starter in the half-lap event at the Hungarian Athletics Grand Prix.
In the women’s 100m, Fraser-Pryce, whom last month became the fastest woman alive with her stunning 10.63, takes on fellow Jamaican Thompson-Herah and Blessing Okagbare. Fraser-Pryce ran 10.71 and 21.78 to win the sprint double at Jamaica Olympic Trials.
