10 Jamaican men in action on day 3 at NCAA Outdoor Championships

Damion Thomas and Jordan Scott, according to American publication Track and Field News predictions, are the Jamaicans expected to get top-three finishes on Friday’s (11 June) 3rd day of the NCAA Outdoor Championships.

Track and Field News considered itself as the “The Bible of the Sport Since 1948” provides coverage of athletics in the United States from the high school to the national level as well as covering the sport on an international basis.

Jamaica’s world U20 champion, Thomas, is seen as the silver medal favourite in the 110m hurdles. Robert Dunning, who is the favourite, best legal times this season are 13.28 and 13.24. Thomas’ best is 13.22.

Phillip Lemonious, a former JC athlete, will also be in the men’s 110m hurdles final for Arkansas. He is predicted to finish fourth.

Jamaicans Nugent, Davis, Nelson, Williams, Young, Knight advanced to Saturday’s finals

Scott of USC, with a season-best of 16.96m, is picked for third in the triple jump.

Former KC athlete Carey McLeod, who won bronze in the long jump (7.94m) for Tennessee, is predicted to take fourth in the triple jump.

Roje Stona of Clemson is picked for third-best in the men’s discus.
